In Egypt 1500 BC they used the gelatine glue. It was made from skin of animal or from bones. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Chinese used to use casein for gluing as well. In Rome, as Plinius the Elder (I. century) informs in his work „Historia naturalis”, they made the glue cooking the skins. |
